You can withdraw consent or opt out at any time using the unsubscribe option in a message or by contacting us. Service messages about an account, order, food-safety issue or product recall are not marketing and may still be sent when necessary.
6. Who we share information with
We may share only the information necessary with:

7. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires it, we use an adequacy regulation, approved contractual protections such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, and appropriate supplementary safeguards.
8. How long we keep information
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including legal, tax, food-traceability, accounting and claims requirements. Indicative periods are:
- order, invoice and core transaction records: normally six years after the relevant financial period;
- customer-service and complaint records: normally up to three years after closure, or longer where a claim requires it;
- unsuccessful wholesale applications: normally up to 12 months;
- account information: while the account is active and for a proportionate period after closure;
- marketing records: until you opt out, followed by a minimal suppression record; and
- cookie choices and device storage: for the period described in our Cookies Policy.
We may retain information longer where law, a product recall, food-safety investigation, dispute or regulatory request requires it.
9. Security
We use organisational and technical measures designed to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. These may include access controls, encryption in transit, supplier due diligence, monitoring, backups and incident-response procedures. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

- ask for access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase information;
- ask us to restrict processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests and object at any time to direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing; and
- request safeguards relating to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
We may need to verify your identity before acting. We normally respond within the period required by law. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, although we would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.
11. Children
Novara’s purchasing and wholesale services are not directed to children. Accounts and orders should be created by persons aged 18 or over. If we learn that we have collected a child’s information inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
